Ghostly Man
Capital

Ghostly Man is both the creation and the anagram of ex-Alpinestars founder member Glyn Thomas. However, don’t be expecting electronica laced with eighties influences on a Ghostly Man record.

‘Capital’ is actually an up-tempo indie track with wonderful vinyl-fuzz guitars and trebly bass. Occasional synth violins and keyboard flourishes appear throughout the track, but that doesn’t stop this from being a guitar-founded Beatles meets Britrock number.

Slightly more sombre, a little more intriguing and with a wonderfully naked vocal, ‘Advice from Strangers’ mixes ‘Strawberry Fields’ organ sounds with delicate acoustic guitar, warm strings and a reedy bass guitar.

There’s only one thing better than releasing a really hooky single and that’s releasing a really catchy a-side with a substantial b-side to flesh up the record. This is exactly what Ghostly Man has done with this release.
