Forward Is The Farewell
You Are My Everything, You Are My Nothing At All
After a stunning entry, with bass that runs up and down the frets and a guitar riff that could beat a spider at twister, Forward is the Farewell ruin things a bit by not quite fitting the song title into its pre-chorus gap.
I’m not going to start preaching about scansion, but it’s about as comfortably fitting as The Verve’s valiant effort to fit too much into the last line of the chorus in ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’.
Remove that line (or at least a few syllables) and you’d have a great rock track with some metal and prog-rock thrown in for good measure.
