Kill The Young
We Are the Birds and the Bees EP

Mixing an altogether Mancunian attitude with some sinister-sounding vocals, Kill The Young are a sombre-indie-rock outfit with the ability to pull a big chorus out of an otherwise torrid and mulchy song.

‘Kill The Young’ has a decent riff, but scratches out a meagre existence until that melody kicks in for the chorus. If it had a lot more going on, it would be comparable to The Dandy Warhols’ ‘I Am a Scientist’, but there isn’t.

I’m tempted to ignore the b-side remix, not because it’s bad, but because it doesn’t tell us anything else about this band (except that the guy who did the remix had more of an ear for a hook than the band did on the a-side).

I definitely want more from this band. I’m pretty sure they’re capable of more, so let’s see it.

Watch Kill The Young – ‘We Are The Birds And The Bees’.
