Revere
Learning to Breathe
Revere play intricate, delicate and emotional indie-pop, like a lighter version of Radiohead or a tidier Broken Social Scene.
Some might say that it’s all a little over the top, with its ambitiously woven sound plethora of musical parts and ever-so-slightly snobby sound and I’m teetering on the edge myself on this very point.
The saving grace on this record is that ‘Learning to Breathe’ is a really accessible song. I don’t think the other songs quite manage the same level of appeal, but as someone with lower expectations than Meatloaf might say, one out of three ain’t bad.
This music is more soundtrack than song and lends itself towards the budding rock-snob in us all.
