The Electric City
Sleeping With The Enemy

The Electric City are a great-sounding rock band, drawing on some Ibiza influences to grind in a bit of dancefloor groove. ‘Sleeping With the Enemy’ starts with a riff-fest before the vocal kicks in. There’s some great use of guitar and some gruffer vocals to come, but I’m already hooked.

With a dirty sound that can only be influenced by the more recent Muse offerings, ‘Electric City’ is a stomping anthem with a great bass line.

A little more straightforward and comparable to Bloc Party, ‘Devil in My Head’ is a dreamy rocker laced with few grunge moments. Most importantly, it has a great melody and builds layers of sound as it arcs towards the chorus.

That’s three songs, they’re all fab and it’s not necessary to pick the best one. It’s a quarter of a great album packed into a skinny case.
