Manic (feat. 408)

Not only are 408 touring with Magnolia Park, they’ve also crushed together for the fast-paced anthem, ‘Manic’.

The song starts subdued, the dynamics kicking in throughout the first verse. The pre-chorus chugs along nicely, but we’re yet to discover that all sections get bigger throughout the song. The chorus is anthemic… it’s Magnolia Park, so of course, it is.

A hooky interlude takes us to the second verse, with 408 taking the lead. The pre-chorus is super-bouncy and the chorus is thicker and richer than before.

What first appears to be a middle eight has a great Dude Ranch-era guitar riff, but it turns out to be an outro. Two and a half minutes of perfect.

The Video For Manic

The video starts with Magnolia Park performing in the lobby of a cinema, with 408 serving popcorn. Interspersed with white-room shots of both bands, the story seems to cast Leila Dinini as a flirty love interest. That’s until things take a turn and Josh Roberts needs to be rescued from a furious Jett Halle.
