The Hedrons - Tired of Taking

The Hedrons
Give Me A Chance

Jump to...

Stop the press! The Hedrons are back. It doesn’t take very many bars of this song to confirm that the return was a solid idea.

The song instantly kicks out a rock and roll energy, laced with Britpop class. The first verse is great, but it’s the pre-chorus chop that gets the hook around my maxillary ready for the chorus to reel me into the net. It may have been a few years, but the band still has a crunchy bite.

The middle eight provides a neat contrast that lets’ the ramp up into the chorus punch through and the raucous ending certainly taps into the chaotic edge of the sound.

The Hedrons are every bit as good as ever and while it took a while for this album to come out, it is certainly worth the wait.

The vinyl of The Hedrons new album, Tired of Taking, is available for pre-order. It ships later this month.

Give Me A Chance Lyrics

Well I know what I need
There’s a place I know that we can always be unseen
So back door
A number seven and nine
You gonna keep me waiting I won’t waste my time

Where’s my! Where’s my! Where’s my teeth?

Give me a chance
Dying to be
Everything
And free

I wait for what seems like a day
My body’s aching and my mind well it always strays
Why they going beneath the yew?
If I had strength that is what
That is what I’d do

Never! Never! Never do!

Give me a chance
Dying to be
Everything
And free

Take the feelings away
Take the feelings away
Take the feelings away
Take the feelings… away

Give me a chance
Dying to be
Everything
And free
