The keystone of this record is precision. Good Terms are one of the tightest bands you’ll hear. Burnout brings together all the great stuff we’ve been listening to, adding a bunch of new songs to discover along the way.

The overall sound of the album is consistent with their heavy emo moniker. Additionally, the songs have been arranged to provide almost non-stop action. The run of songs from ‘Cough’ into ‘Reaching’, and onwards into ‘Hear Me Out’ and then ‘High Right Now’ is about as perfect as it gets.

From the quietest moment on the record (‘Chickweed’), things move into the high emotion of ‘Blurry’ and ‘Mask’, which have the most angsty vocal moments. ‘Drive-In’ and ‘Keeper’ bounce along and ‘Mirror Mirror’ has some end-of-album sparkle.

As an album, it has some old school end-to-end design going on, which I love. There are plenty of great tunes on here. Good Terms have really done a great job on this record.

Watch Good Terms – ‘Reaching’.
