Pray For Hayden
Death of Me
Starting with the fast-paced ‘Death of Me’, Pray for Hayden demonstrate an excellent grasp of near-EMO rock. There’s chunky bass and creative drumming, and the guitars add loads of variety to an already diverse track, although I’m a little dubious of the lead vocal, it’s come together really well with plenty of punch when required and a good level of contrast.
‘Pictures of You’ and ‘Don’t Panic’ are a bit more emotional and capture a certain amount of the vocal intensity of My Chemical Romance, which works really well for this band. It actually sounds more honest and exposed and has a rawness and intensity that ups the appeal in a big way.
If Jimmy Eat World appeared on Radio 1’s Live Lounge and played a Hell is for Heroes track – this is what it might sound like.
Watch Pray For Hayden – ‘Death Of Me’.
