Calva Louise - Oportunista

Calva Louise
Oportunista

Jump to...

With a visceral metal sound that combines elements of Kittie and Nova Twins, Calva Louise deliver a hard-hitting single with ‘Oportunista’.

The opening bars bring a big riff and screaming vocals. When the drums hit, the riff expands through solid bass tones. The verse crosses into an intricate beat that brings an unusual chaotic flavour before the chorus slams your fingers in the door.

There are some really musical elements to this song, which are used to contrast different moments and enhance others with additional ambient elements. Overall, you can feel the angst more than anything – the song really is charged right up with that rage.

The additional tracks further demonstrate the band’s ability to craft melodic crossover with rusted circular saw brutality. ‘Feast Is Over’ and ‘Third Class Citizen’ infuse classic elements of pop, rock, and metal.

This is an album for those who like their music to bite.

What’s the Spanish Line in Oportunista

Those who listen carefully will notice the following line towards the end of the song:

Me sabe a mierda tu falsa humildad

This is Spanish, and provides the rather angsty line:

Your false humility tastes like shit to me

Oportunista Lyrics

I wanna call you
I wanna call you
I wanna call you
I wanna call you
Oportunista

Ah
I wanna call you out
If we’re being honest
You are not Mother Teresa

I wanna call you
I cannot find the words
It seems I’m a hypocrite
But when I stand up I feel guilt
I wanna be your friend
And think that you’re the best
But when I ask respect
You look at me and I…

Freeze
The feeling ain’t mutual
If I ask for respect
And you don’t give it
I scream
I wanna call you out
You peaceful arribista

I hear you now
I wanna say
I have loved being naïve
And it’s a shame
That it had to end like this
My temper has been spinning
Out of control
But how can I be stoic
When you treat me like this

Like a piece of shit
The feeling ain’t mutual
If I ask for respect
And you don’t give it
I scream
I wanna call you
I wanna call you
Oportunista

Freeze
The feeling ain’t mutual
If I ask for respect
And you don’t give it
I scream
I wanna call you out

I wanna see you climb the ladder
Just don’t use me as bait

Freeze

Ah
I wanna call you
I wanna call you
I wanna call you
I wanna call you
Oportunista

Ah
I wanna call you out

If we’re being honest
You are not Mother Teresa
Me sabe a mierda tu falsa humildad

Freeze
The feeling ain’t mutual
If I ask for respect
And you don’t give it
I scream
I wanna call you out
