Short but epic, Lastelle’s new single ‘Pine’ tops the new Exist Vol. I EP, and gives us all the huge anthemic ambience we’ve come to love.

It’s joined by ‘Life in Silhouettes’, ‘Breathe Me In’, and ‘Changes With The Seasons’ on the record, along with new songs ‘In Separation’ and ‘In Unison’ (I detect a little theme there and the first is an extended intro for the second).

‘Pine’ itself comes to life gradually, teasing for a full minute towards an intense and emotional fullness. The guitars fly right over the top on this track, building layers of sound that skim across each other, while the bass and drums ground it all with a big warm foundation.

The EP goes hard into that zone of intense but intricate sound, with the vocals shifting from melodic to outright screams in a way that matches the music.
