A new single just arrived from Belfast crunchy bubblegrungers Wynona Bleach, and ‘I Deserve That’ is one of their best tracks.

The guitar sets the tone, and the bursting-into-life intro delivers a bouncing anthemic feel right from the start. The verse is concise, and the chorus is gifted early, which given the three-and-a-half-minute length is a good thing.

The second verse adds a pre-chorus and then we’re in a middle eight before a pre-chorus that has us heading out through a short solo and a chorus loop.

The song is almost relentless; stuffed full of energy with a wonderfully thick and punchy tone. The vocal cuts through perfectly, adding the melody and meaning to the song.

This one is about brainrot and how getting sucked into stuff on the internet and TV can make you feel great and worthless all at the same time, and how it might be worth going out and hanging out with your friend(s) instead.

Is it a return of grunge? Is it a Britpop revival? I don’t know, but I love it.

I Deserve That Lyrics

Don’t make me feel
It’s just hiding down inside me
Don’t make me say it cause
I know that you’ll take it wrong

You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You remind me

Don’t make it real
I’m just hanging around beside you
Don’t make me fake it cause I
know that you’ll play along

You make me sicker
You make me uh

You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You remind me
Youuuuu
You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You are mine
You’re all that I know

You make me smile
I’ll follow you for all time

You make me sicker
You make me uh

You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You remind me
You
You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You are mine
You’re all that I know

You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You remind me you
You remind me
I deserve that
I deserve that
You know
You are mine
You’re all that I know
