The Cedar Falls
Our Angels Wait

The Cedar Falls have got a decent sound, wholesome guitars and slamming drums and bass make for a rock sound akin to The Lost Prophets and Linkin Park. ‘Our Angels Wait’ lives for its chorus, which is undoubtedly the best part of the song. There is a decent eerie break on offer too, but this track just needs a little spice in the verse to get to the next level.

After an incredibly long lingering final note, it’s the turn of ‘Easy to Float’, which is a surprisingly tender song. Again, it has a missing link between its current state and its own potential, but it’s another demonstration of what The Cedar Falls could achieve given the chance. In this case, the gnarly heavy section amidst the tender song doesn’t quite achieve what Bushbaby managed in ‘Monsters’, but you can hear what they’re getting at.

‘The Wire Also’ is a grunge track of the highest order. The drums are stunning, splicing up the track into heavily punctuated sections and setting the whole song alight. This is the track that’s ready. It shows what this band is capable of with its wave of riffs and pumping chorus.

There is still some work to do, but The Cedar Falls are a band on the move (and travelling in the right direction).
