About Envy of None
Picture this: Rush guitar legend Alex Lifeson gets bored of retirement and decides to shatter everyone’s expectations… again. After decades of bending rock into mind-melting shapes with Rush, the guy who’s inspired countless guitar nerds worldwide has teamed up with some seriously talented friends to create something that’ll make you go “Wait, WHAT?”
Envy Of None isn’t just another rock supergroup—it’s Lifeson and pals (Coney Hatch founder Andy Curran, producer Alfio Annibalini) diving headfirst into a swirling pool of alternative, experimental, and synth rock that sounds absolutely nothing like Rush. Yep, you read that right.
But the real game-changer? Enter Maiah Wynne, the vocalist who basically made everyone’s jaws hit the floor. When she sent back her haunting vocals for their track “Shadow,” the seasoned musicians were collectively like “Holy shit, who IS this person?!” Her soul-baring intensity breathed life into what might have just been another side project from some industry vets.
With their self-titled debut dropping in via Kscope, these musical misfits are serving up dark melodies with pop hooks that’ll give your playlist whiplash in the best possible way. Forget everything you thought you knew about Lifeson’s sound—Envy Of None is here to mess with your head.
Band members: Alf Annibalini (guitar, keyboards), Andy Curran (bass guitar, background vocals, guitar), Alex Lifeson (guitar, mandola, oud), Maiah Wynne (lead vocals, background vocals, keyboards).
